Roger had the extreme honor to marry Adam & Diserie this last Sunday at 10:00 in the morning in Seal Beach…….  And they made it just in time.  No, they weren’t late….in fact early….. And all their guest were there on time too……..  It was just the fact that most of their guests and Adam & Diserie had run a triathlon THE DAY BEFORE !!  But you would never know it !  Both were chipper and excited to start the day !  It was a great day and a wonderful couple !

Hannah Shaw and David Castellanos picked just the right day of the week for their marriage ceremony: Monday!

IMG_3013Hannah Shaw and David Castellanos picked just the right day of the week for their marriage ceremony:  Monday!  Their chosen venue, Seal Beach near the Reef Cafe and jetty, was quite vacant for a beautiful mid-day in July, and their thirty guests had an excuse for an extended weekend, spending the day with this delightful couple.  The Rev Dr Gary Barmore of Great Officiants made his way across the sand, donned his clergy robe, and led a ceremony that David and Hannah as well as their parents (pictured), family and friends found inspiring for the happy couple and their own lives as well.  Dr. Barmore has oft noted that weddings are now one of the few times people actually sit/stand still — not in front of a screen, game or TV but in the presence of a loving event —  and that the couple thus offers folks around them a great opportunity to reflect on life and love and make re-commitment to deep relationships.

Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water in Seal Beach

The weekend was cloudy, the May Gray was in full effect. The day of the ceremony, the clouds cleared, and the sun was shining, only to be clouded by the smoke of the fire at the end of the Seal Beach Pier. By the time of the ceremony, the haze was gone, and there was a cool breeze through the air.

Firefighters work to put out a fire at the end of the Seal Beach Pier on Friday morning. The fire damaged the pier and destroyed the former site of Ruby's restaurant which closed in 2013. ///ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Slug: sealbeachpier.fire.0520.jag, Day: Friday, May 20, 2016 (5/20/16), Time: 7:33:15 AM, Location: Seal Beach, California - Seal Beach Pier Fire - JEFF GRITCHEN, STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER

Alexa and William were so in love, that the fire and passion in their hearts burned brighter than that fire, and they continued on with a beautiful walk on ceremony in Seal Beach.

I convinced them to get married not only toes in the sand, but toes in the water. We stood at the edge of the waves. With the water softly kissing our ankles, I performed a beautiful ceremony for the couple and their two guests.

They incorporated a sand ceremony, which turned out amazing. I had placed some sand from the beach to immortalize that moment, that spot, forever.

I told them, if the clouds or smoke of trouble hides the sun in their lives, they can always remember it’s still there. As long as they have that burning fire of passion in their heart, they lives will be filled with joy.20160520_161135

Seal Beach Sunset Wedding

On the sand in Seal Beach, California with the Pacific Ocean as a back drop Joseph and Lupe exchanged vows, with the sun setting in the background.

The bride prior to the wedding had collected Driftwood and seashells and  crafted a exquisite cross to for the wedding.

That morning and early afternoon it was extremely overcast and sprinkled.  Needless to say we were concerned about the weather, but an hour before the wedding the sun broke through and we ended up with a beautiful sunset.

We believe the experience was custom-made for this lovely couple.

Congratulations Lupe and Joseph!
